Hello, I’m Kio Whitten, a student at Emory University and a Manager/Planner at GFGC. This blog is a combination of all the knowledge I have had to privilege to gain from my experiences, classes, and personal research. I am an Atlanta native and have been working with GFGC since high school. I have always been passionate about nature and gardening since middle school and have loved learning about various methods of cultivating food and learning how to help my community. The “Environmental Justice” Blog will have some heavy topics, talking about justice movements and issues stemming from Atlanta’s varying infrastructure and looking at global movements. The “Plant, Farm, and Grow” Blog will be the long awaited information page about GFGC tips about how to start a garden, what plants are best to grow for certain uses or with certain factors and more! Though the start of the blog post will mostly be from me, with time I am hoping other GFGC students and staff would like to join!
