Great day today building food security for our community!!

We added basil, tomatoes, peppers, okra, ginger, turmeric, mint and oregano to the Beloved Community Church Food Forest that we started in fall of 2021!
🌳 another successful Food Forest planting in the books! ☀️Thanks so much to everyone who came out today!!
Next up... raised bed prep for next week! We built raised beds from cedar fence pickets! Everyone got the chance to learn to use the saw and drill which was pretty cool 😎
Another great day! Each fruit tree guild included elephant garlic, yarrow, cone flower and comfrey!
Planted blueberries, pear, garlic and yarrow in this guild 🍐 also a goji berry bush! Have you had a goji berry before?
Lots of helping hands and smiling faces! Today we removed grass and added compost to a future food forest site!
Learning from the best! Micheal Blackwell from KSU walked us through the process of growing shiitake mushrooms with logs!
Set up 4 raised beds!
